several commenters miss the ability of xyplorer to "set itself up as default file manager."i should make clear that this is not a feature of the file manager but one of the operating system. editing the registry is necessary to make xyplorer (or any other file manager) the default file manager. however, since xyplorer is a portable application that's promoted as "not changing the system or registry" it does not offer to make this registry edit for you.however, the necessary changes are fairly easy to do and you can find helpful information in various xyplorer online resources.update: fyi, since v8.90.0000 a simple checkbox in configuration makes xyplorer the default file manager.
with all advances drweb still has a very low detection rate. yesterday i found three viruses on a computer supposedly "protected" by drweb.a good viruses definitions db is far more important than how much resources an av solution uses.
i'm not sure what small bugs were in 6.0, because i've yet to have any problems with it, and i use the program almost daily. the database change does speed up font display, especially of opentype fonts. however, i'll have to respectfully disagree with pater below, as i don't have the same experience with x-fonter as he had. much of x-fonter's layout is customizable, so unclutter it. but a font manager is built to provide every bit of information you need for each installed font. and i've never experience anything slow with x-fonter. ever.
several years back i thought this was the best tagging app around. but it fails to address my single biggest issue: setting "album artist" tags, and despite numerous requests in his forums, the developer steadfastly ignores the issue.add to that the sloppiness of the code, such as incorrect data placed in the windows installer database (claiming to be a generic "mfc application"), and i get the impression that the application does what the developer needs it for, and he's not really interested in developing any further.since my needs and his have diverged, so goes my rating of the application.
been using innos for a few months now, upgraded as soon as this came out of course, but from the official site. when i first started using it and knew nothing about how to use it or even scripting in it, i had thought it was not "very good" as well as "not powerful" compared to nsis ect..however, i was completly wrong, once i learned all the ins' and outs of this program i have come to love it. not only is it very powerful but things are a breeze now building even complicated installers. is tool is also one of my favorite additions to the compiler itself.
good program, but the duplicate detection engine needs some serious work. to check my sample of 232gb for duplicate files clonespy took 17minutes and read 53gb of data from the harddisk.duplicate cleaner v1.2 (also a free program) on the other hand also gets the job done within 7 minutes while reading 15,2gb of data. since clonespy did not find any additional duplicates that duplicate cleaner v1.2 had not already found, clonespy's engine must have some efficiency drawbacks and probably needs a rewrite...
wtf ?what does this one has to do on betanews lol
best in its class period !that's because your running windows 8 a horrid operating system
this get more and more bloated every release, while not actually getting better. shame nero used to be my goto dvd burner.
