poor sound quality, bloated, & intrusive. if you can't work out how to organize your music without this i suppose it's a must have - but not for me. as it's main objective in life is to actually play music & it doesn't do that well for me it's useless. was ok 10 years ago but not now.the lite version is anything but lite & the standard doesn't play music well either.

stopped using skydrive when the client stopped supporting xp. moved everything to dropbox and have no complaints. works on older systems unlike this junk. the more stuff that ms drops xp support for, the less ms stuff i use. i don't have the option of upgrading to win7 on several of my systems.

nice free program that does the job for my needs. i like the fact that you can be completely explicit about which folders it should index. most of these types of programs seem to force you to index the start menu, which i don't want. i can search the start menu with vista by pressing one key. but with this you can make a folder of your custom shortcuts and have it search that folder only, which is exactly what i want.the "approximate search" mode also does a very good job of finding stuff even if you make a typo or type just a few random letters. plus it has a little list of a few lines showing the bes tmatches, so if you really screw up you can just hit down then enter to go to the second match or whatever. also you can completely turn off automatic indexing so it will only index on startup or when you right click and tell it to do so.it has a bunch of stuff for website shortcuts and all that too which honestly i have no use for so i don't know how well all that works. but it is there.overall, pretty basic-looking (who cares if your launcher has a drop shadow really) but does everything i want and does it well. switched over to this from launchy a couple of years ago and haven't missed it, no real complaints.

this version is much more stable than 1013, though it does still have bugs, even a glaring one in the interface involving the total time computation.that said, many of the mp3 files that used to make bonkenc choke and crash do not do this with 1014. perhaps they updated the decoder to a newer version or something that fixed that. regardless, it looks like it does a better job than before with those troubled mp3 headers.it's not keyboard friendly in the main "job list" interface, and that's a pain. i don't like how it forces a pop-up "info box" when you move the cursor over an entry in that list - it's distracting and should be allowed to be toggled off.a more detailed change log would be welcome as well.converting of some actual mp3's seems agonizingly slow, but i can't pin down what that's all about yet. i'll need to do more testing.still, it is a step up over 1013 and the interface feels fast like it used to be in 1012. i hope the positive trend continues.

lots of fatal errors reported around the net, most of them pertaining to language packs.as for me, i met a c0190003 fatal error related to the updating of amd64 components (hint: i have a core 2) which completely hosed my system. thankfully (and unexpectedly) system restore could repair my partition and undo the sp1 installation. apparently i'm not the only user in this situation.
